Bubble Reef – Axolotl Merge: what stays on your device, how ads work, and your choices.

Magyar nyelvű változat

Overview

Effective date: 23 October 2026 · Last updated: 23 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bubble Reef – Axolotl Merge ("the app") handles information. The app is developed and published by Marton Palotai, a private individual developer who publishes apps under the name O Twist Games ("we", "us", "our").

In short: your game progress and settings stay on your device. There is no account and we run no server that receives data from the app. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob; Google collects some device and usage information to deliver those ads, as described below. Where a consent message applies, you decide whether ads may be personalised; on every iPhone you decide whether the app may track you. Buying Remove Ads turns the ads off.

1. Information stored only on your device

The following is saved locally and is never sent to us:

  • Game progress: the run in progress (so you can continue later), your best scores, records and daily challenge results.
  • Settings: sound effects and music (on/off and volume), haptics, skin, aim guide, and whether the introduction and the first-shot hint have been shown.
  • Remove Ads status: a flag that remembers that the purchase is active. The App Store remains the source of truth and is checked again when the app starts.
  • Your ad consent choice: stored on the device by Google's consent software, so you are not asked again at every launch (Google's ad software sends it along with ad requests).

This information may be included in your normal device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) under Apple's terms. Deleting the app removes it from the device.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app contains the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform for consent. Unless you have bought Remove Ads, ads appear only after a game has ended: an optional video you can choose to watch for a second chance (once per game), and a full-screen ad at most after every third game over (a game continued with a second chance ends twice), shown when you leave the results screen; at least two and a half minutes pass between the game overs that trigger these ads. Ads never appear during play.

To deliver, measure and protect ads, Google (Google Ireland Limited for users in the European Economic Area and Switzerland, Google LLC elsewhere) may collect and process:

  • your IP address, which can indicate an approximate location;
  • device identifiers — the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking, and app- or developer-scoped identifiers;
  • advertising data and product interactions, such as app launches, ads shown or tapped and video views;
  • diagnostic data such as performance information and crash logs from the ad software.

Unless you have bought Remove Ads, the app contacts Google's consent service each time it starts, to check whether a consent message is needed, and then, if consent allows, pre-loads ads. Google therefore receives this information even if you never watch an ad.

Google uses this information as an independent controller under its own policies, for example to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance and prevent fraud. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Through Google's ad auction, advertisers and other ad technology companies may receive some of this information in order to bid on and show an ad; in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland these are the ad partners named in the consent message. Google processes the data under its Privacy Policy and, for users in Europe, under the Google Ads Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms agreed with us; ad partners in Google's auction must follow Google's policies for ad partners (including Google's EU User Consent Policy) and their own privacy policies. The app shares data only through this ad software, and we rely on these parties to give it the same or equal protection as described in this policy. We do not receive personal data from Google about you; we only see aggregated reports (such as the number of ads shown).

Ads are limited to content rated suitable for general audiences. If you see an ad that seems inappropriate, please report it.

  • Consent message: where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the app shows Google's consent message before the ad software is started and before any ad is requested. The message lists the purposes and the advertising partners, and you can accept, refuse or manage your choices. If you refuse, ads may still be shown, but they are not personalised.
  • Changing your mind: where a consent message applies, the app's Settings show Ad privacy choices, which reopens the message at any time while ads are active, so you can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
  • US state privacy laws: where Google's message for these states applies, Ad privacy choices also lets you opt out of the use of your data for targeted advertising.
  • App Tracking Transparency: iOS may ask whether Bubble Reef may track you. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the advertising identifier is not shared and the game works exactly the same. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Game data on your device is used only to provide the game to you and never leaves the device through us.
  • Advertising: storing or reading information on your device and personalised ads are based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given in Google's consent message where that message applies. Sending ad requests, showing non-personalised or limited ads, measuring them and preventing fraud are based on legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) where the consent message lists them as such: our interest in funding the free game with ads, and Google's and its ad partners' interest in delivering ads securely. While ads are active, you can object to this at any time in the consent message ("Manage options", later through Ad privacy choices). After you buy Remove Ads, the app makes no further ad requests.
  • Transfers: Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (recognised as adequate by the European Commission), its UK Extension and the Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and uses the European Commission's standard contractual clauses where needed; see Google's data transfer frameworks.
  • Retention: data on your device stays until you delete the app. Google keeps advertising data according to its own retention periods.

5. The Remove Ads purchase

Remove Ads is an optional one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's terms and privacy policy. We never receive your payment details or Apple Account information; the app only checks with the App Store whether the purchase is active. From the moment it is active, right away and without restarting the app, the app makes no new ad requests and shows no new ads (an ad already on screen finishes), and the second chance is free. On later launches the app checks the purchase first and then neither contacts Google's consent service nor starts Google's ad software, so Ad privacy choices is no longer shown: there is no ad processing left to change. Deleting the app also removes the stored consent choice. On a new device or after reinstalling, tap "Restore purchases" in Settings if ads still appear; it asks the App Store to confirm the earlier purchase.

6. What we do not collect

The app itself does not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, health data or account details. It has no analytics or crash-reporting service of our own. Apart from the Google ad software described in section 2, the app passes personal data to no one. If you have turned on sharing with app developers in iOS (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics under Apple's own terms; we receive no other data about you.

7. If you contact us

If you e-mail us (for support or to report an ad), we use your e-mail address, your message and any attachments only to answer you and handle your request. We keep them only as long as needed for that, and delete them earlier if you ask us to.

8. Children

Bubble Reef is a general-audience puzzle game. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are restricted to content suitable for general audiences.

9. Your rights and deleting your data

  • Deleting the app removes everything the app stored on your device.
  • While ads are active, you can withdraw your ad consent at any time with Ad privacy choices in the app's Settings (where the consent message applies).
  • You can turn off tracking for this app, or for all apps, in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • For data Google processes for ads, see My Ad Center and Google's privacy controls.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Apart from e-mails you send us, we hold no personal data about you. For advertising data Google is the controller, and you can exercise these rights with Google (Google's European requirements); we will also help if you write to us. If you live in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you can lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Hungary: NAIH, the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, naih.hu). Questions: support@otwistgames.com.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new "last updated" date. If a future version of the app processes data in a new way, we will update this policy before that version is released.

11. Contact

Bubble Reef is developed and published by Marton Palotai (O Twist Games), a private individual, who is responsible for this app as the data controller.
